When does the Moore River sandbar open?

Typically after heavy winter rain when river flow exceeds beach buildup — usually June through September. Outside the open window, the river sits as a long lagoon. Bar state dictates the fishery: closed for upstream bream, open for mouth tailor and mulloway.

Where do I fish for bream at Guilderton?

The river itself, upstream from the bar — work timber snags, rock walls and deeper holes with small hardbodies or soft plastics. Two formal fishing platforms (Silver Creek and Stephens Crescent boardwalk) suit anglers who don't want to wade or kayak. Kayaks help reach the skinnier upstream pockets.
