Why this site exists
Bite Compass exists because fishing decisions in Perth are local, specific, and time-sensitive — and most fishing apps are built for a different world.
1) Why American apps don't fit Perth
A lot of popular fishing apps are tuned for US seasons, species, spots, and data sources.
Perth has different wind patterns, different coastline behaviour, and different "what matters" for a quick after-work session.
Bite Compass is Perth-first by design. Not a global app with Perth bolted on.
2) Why Subscriptions Suck
Most people don't want yet another monthly bill just to answer a simple question:
"Is it worth going for a fish this arvo / this weekend?"
Bite Compass is aiming for a model that feels fair: useful for free, with optional paid extras later — not paywalls everywhere.
3) Why Local Accuracy Matters
Perth fishing is often a tight window. If the wind direction is wrong, or tides are "close enough" but not actually right,
you waste time (and usually fuel) on bad calls.
Bite Compass focuses on the few inputs that move the needle locally — and tries to keep the UI fast so you can decide quickly.
No fluff. No pretending this guarantees fish. It's just a tool — built for Perth.
