The Fishing Boat Harbour is a working commercial harbour with deep water, permanent lighting, and structure everywhere — pylons, walls, moorings. The commercial boats stir up bait, and the lights draw everything in after dark. It's one of the best night fishing spots in the metro area when the open coast is blown out.
Fish the walls and pylons, working baits or jigs tight to the structure. Tide changes push water through the harbour and switch the bite on. For squid, work the lit edges slowly at night. For herring and skippy, float a light rig along the pylon line.
Herring, skippy, squid (good under the lights at night), tailor, and mulloway around the deeper structure — the harbour entrance is close to known jewfish territory.
It's a busy working harbour — be respectful of commercial operators and other users. Keep casts tight and controlled, not across the channel. Night sessions are the go here — arrive after the restaurants close and fish until the bite drops off.
