About the Perth fishing map

Bite Compass tracks 123 fishing spots across Perth and Western Australia, each with a live wind, tide, and bite-time forecast. The map shows a live wind heat-field across the WA coast: cooler blues are light air, greens and yellows are a working breeze, and oranges through magenta mark the strong-wind end of the scale (the legend keys the exact km/h bands). Pin colours show each spot's bite score for today — gold pins are firing, teal are steady, slate are quiet; tap one for the full forecast.

Drag the timeline along the bottom to scrub the wind forecast forward up to seven days, then press play to animate it. Tap any pin to open that spot's full bite-time forecast — wind direction, wave height, tide stage, and the solunar bite windows for the day. Bite times are a forecast, not a guarantee: they tell you when conditions line up, not that the fish have read the same chart.

How bite times work

Each spot's score blends the solunar major/minor feeding windows with the local tide stage and weather, so the busy periods move with the moon and the tide rather than sitting at fixed clock hours. The how it works page walks through the model, and the solunar forecast shows the raw feeding windows the map draws on.
