Yellowfin Whiting (Sand Whiting)
Yellowfin whiting — also called sand whiting in WA — are an excellent-eating fish of sandy shallows and estuary flats. Often caught alongside King George whiting; target them with light tackle and worm or prawn bait.
Overview
Yellowfin whiting are a reliable year-round target on Perth's sandy shallows and estuary flats. While they don't have quite the same prestige as King George whiting, they're excellent eating and often more willing to bite. A great species for a relaxed session with light tackle.

No minimum size. Daily bag limit: 30 per individual whiting species excluding King George (Family Sillaginidae) — the limit applies to each species in the group.
