Tide times at Long Jetty (Tuggerah Lake)

Sunday 25 October 2026 · Australia/Sydney

Heights and times on this page are a model estimate. The model reads the open-sea tide outside the lake's entrance, not the lake's own, so inside the lake the change comes later, the range is a fraction of the ocean's (often only a few centimetres), and wind and rain move the water more than the tide does. Use the BoM tide tables for New South Wales for this area.

Best Tide State to Fish Long Jetty (Tuggerah Lake)

Because the lake is shallow and mostly enclosed, wind direction and strength shape the session more than tide does. Light winds from most directions are workable, but a strong southerly or north-easter makes light-line bait work miserable on an exposed 350-metre deck. Warm water from spring through autumn brings the flathead and whiting on. After heavy rain the lake rises and colours up, and in warm, still spells the Tuggerah Lakes are prone to blue-green algae blooms, so it is worth checking council water-quality notices before a session.

What Anglers Target Here

Anglers fishing Long Jetty (Tuggerah Lake) typically time sessions around the tide for yellowfin bream, dusky flathead, sand whiting, and luderick.
