Is Woodman Point Jetty the same as Ammo Jetty?

Yes — they are the same structure. Woodman Point Jetty and the Ammunition (Ammo) Jetty are two names for the one public jetty at Woodman Point, built in 1939 to load explosives. There is no separate second jetty.

Is Woodman Point Jetty open?

No. The jetty was closed in June 2026 after storm damage and is being fully rebuilt — a $17.3 million project running roughly a year, with a reopening expected around summer 2027. The deck and the water beneath it are off-limits during construction.

Where can I fish near Woodman Point while the jetty is closed?

Where do I park for Woodman Point Jetty?

The Woodman Point Recreation Camp car park is the usual entry point, with a sealed path and public toilets — but the jetty itself is closed for the rebuild until around summer 2027, so there's no jetty access from it right now.
