Deep protected bay with seagrass beds creates ideal King George whiting habitat. The sand patches between weed are where they feed; sight-fishing on calm sunny days is the local skill. Most metro beach spots don't have the depth/seagrass combination that Safety Bay does.

Beach worms or small prawns on a long-shank #6 hook fished over the sandy patches between weed beds. Light leaders (4–6 lb fluoro) and clean presentations beat heavy gear in the clear shallow water. Fresh bait outfishes frozen.
