When are the bigger tailor at Secret Harbour?

February and March, after the smaller schools that dominate early summer have moved on. Quality fish in the 40–60 cm range cruise the deeper channels at dawn and dusk. Fish ganged-hook mulies or larger metals through the channels for the best shot.

Why is it called Secret Harbour if everyone knows about it?

The name predates the suburb's development and growth. It's well-known among Rockingham-area anglers but the beach is long enough that you can find space outside peak summer weekends.

Where do you fish for mulloway at Secret Harbour?

The deeper channels feeding through the reef sections — walk the beach and look for darker water drains between reef patches. November is the peak month, with night fishing on an outgoing tide the standard setup.

Is Secret Harbour good for whiting?

Yes — KGW and sand whiting hold year-round on the cleaner sand patches between reef sections. Fish a long-shank #6 paternoster with prawn or bloodworm on light gear, in the sandy gaps rather than over the reef itself.
