North Beach Jetty is a short 22-metre fishing jetty that gives access to the reef system running through the Marmion Marine Park coastline. The pylons and nearby reef hold bait year-round, and the jetty's compact size means you're always fishing close to structure. It's a good quick-session spot for the northern suburbs.
Drop baits along the pylon line for herring and whiting during the day. The reef nearby means you can also cast metals from the jetty toward the reef edge for tailor at dawn and dusk. Keep rigs light — the water is generally clear and fish are line-shy. Berley helps concentrate herring around the pylons.
Herring (reliable around the pylons), whiting (over sand near the jetty), tailor (dawn and dusk, reef edges), and wrasse around the reef structure.
The jetty is short, so you're sharing space with a small number of other anglers — be respectful of lines and casting room. Some reef areas nearby are in Marmion Marine Park sanctuary zones where fishing is prohibited — check the boundary maps. A solid weeknight spot for a quick session in the northern suburbs.
