Yes. Horrocks sits in the West Coast Bioregion, so pink snapper, dhufish and the broader demersal mixed bag are subject to the September 2027 closure window and the wider West Coast rules. Boat anglers fishing the back of the reef for dhufish and baldchin groper need to verify the current DPIRD dates and limits before each trip.

Around 5 hours via the Brand Highway, North West Coastal Highway and Northampton–Horrocks Road. The last 22 km from Northampton is a sealed back road. Long-weekend trips are common; a three or four day stay makes most sense given the species variety and the chance of weather days.

Can I launch a boat at Horrocks?

Not from a formal ramp. Beach launches off the foreshore are common in calm conditions but require a 4WD and a boat trailer set up for soft-sand work. The closest formal ramps are at Geraldton south and Kalbarri north — Port Gregory has a foreshore jetty but no formal trailer ramp. Most Horrocks-based fishing is land-based or kayak-launched inside the reef.
